Music
Why music?
Music has always been such an important component of my life. Choir and theatre were some of the most exciting parts of my day in high school simply because I got the opportunity to experience music. Taking music theory classes in college only cemented this love further, and I began to share the experience with others as a course tutor for other musical theatre students. Now, my work as a musician typically takes one of two forms: music direction and composition/arrangement.
Music Direction
As a music director, I am frequently inspired by the details of the music in front of me. I believe that honing in on the details of the music and creating specific and dynamic choices can amplify the story, creating increasingly evocative moments as the details compound. Music direction credits include: Working: A Musical, Rainbow Fish: The Musical, APP Radio Hour: Miracle on 34th St (The Appalachian Center for the Arts), [title of thesis], Selcouth, When I Grow Up, Serendipity (Western Carolina University).
Composition & Arrangement
I began arranging music as a part of my senior thesis project, Selcouth, arranging acapella pieces for our ensemble of five. This sparked a new passion, and I have since been able to arrange and compose pieces for use in online media. Most recently, I have been working with The Citrus Club podcast, led by Blair Burris and Ellie Perez, to create music for their holiday radio shows. Keep an eye out for future work from The Citrus Club podcast!
